Welcome!

We welcome you to the College-Youth Symphony, in residence at the State University of New York at New Paltz.  We hope you will take a few moments to learn more about the CYS and its mission.

Welcome to the College-Youth Symphony

The College-Youth Symphony ("CYS") is a symphony orchestra comprised of qualified high school and college students from the Mid-Hudson region of New York and is in residence at SUNY-New Paltz. The CYS has performed concerts throughout the Mid-Hudson region with selected students and guest artists as soloists.  There are also opportunities for selected CYS members to perform in chamber ensembles.  Dr. Carole Cowan, concertmaster and principal violinist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and Professor at SUNY New Paltz, is founder and director of the CYS.
